That’s great! That’s swell! How many activities did you participate in outside of class? What were your extra-curricular obligations?
Did you perform in four musicals? And a musical revue? Did you work as a consultant for student activities? How’s your home cooking? How about your novel? Did you teach any dance classes? Did you teach one weekly? Did you have three tech weeks in a row? Were you in any choirs? Were you in any choirs with special ensembles that you were also a part of? Did you read any books? Did you do any art? Did you do all the art? Did you travel?
No? None of it? You mean getting those grades took absolutely all of your will, tenacity, energy, and dreams? You had nothing else left?
I know you're trying so hard to think that you're this outlandish, quirky, precious, undiscovered, semi-tarnished diamond, and I get that it's a struggle to know otherwise, but you have GOT to stop pedaling so hard on that unicycle, because it's just some spokes rattling among the gears of every other twenty-something gay kid convinced they've got a personality worth (spitefully) slathering in the face of ever person who uses the internet.
Just like tumblr isn’t real life, a pretty face isn’t a prerogative for profundity.
