His name is also Ryan. Today he called me for the first time in several months from from America (he’s been in Uganda, by choice, for a portion of the summer being a boss and kicking butt before he heads to med school at an unprecedentedly young age). I can’t really describe what it’s like being able to talk to him without the obstacle of an ocean and shitty service between us. The best way I can put it is that since he left I feel like I’ve only been exhaling, never inhaling, and when it hit me that he was home and safe a great tension untightened between my lungs and I felt like crying.
Ryan, You are my hero for doing what you do and being able to laugh like it’s not incredible. Welcome home!
This is a horror manga (The title means “Seeds of Anxiety”) which is a collection of very short and mostly atmospheric stories dealing with urban legends, ghosts, and superstitions all organized around a specific theme (school, visitors, etc.). Some are just two pages long.
It’s very good! I’ve uploaded some of my favorite stories…
Warning: If you don’t have the stomach for horror some of these may be disturbing… Also, the formatting is traditionally Japanese, or right to left.
